Hærvejen takes you through some of the Vejle region's most beautiful nature. Here you get authentic nature experiences, where you can really feel the calm around you and the presence of nature.
Starting from the north, you begin at the scenic area around Rørbæk Lake and continue to Tinnet Krat and Kollemorten Krat, one of Denmark’s largest oak forests. Nearby, you will also find the springs of the Gudenå and Skjernå rivers, two of Denmark’s largest waterways.
In Jelling, you’ll come to Fårup Lake and the stunning area that boasts numerous springs, expansive forests, and open meadows.
You then walk through Vejle Ådal, the largest of the area's tunnel valleys. Vejle Ådal offers very different nature, which is home to a multitude of animals and plants.
The last section through the Vejle region offers a fanfare of nature experiences: Close to the route you will find Randbøl Heath, which in August blooms with the most beautiful heather, and Frederikshåb Plantation, where the natural phenomenon of the Seven Lakes is located.
Do yourself a favor and stop at Runkenbjerg, which gives you the best view of both Vejle and Egtved river valleys.
