The Plantation Route - Panorama Route 1
The Plantation Route - Panoramic Route 1 - is a local bike tour of 14 km offering hidden places and tranquility. Starting in Randbøldal, the route takes you through Frederikshåb Plantage and past Bindeballe Købmandsgårds, where a detour to the Syvårssøerne (Seven Year Lakes) and a visit to the white sand dunes is recommended.
The Plantation Route (Plantageruten) is a local cycle route starting in the valley of Randbøldal and passing through the woods of Frederikshåb Plantage, where a detour to the Syvårssøerne (Seven Year Lakes) and a visit to the white sand dunes is recommended.
Frederikshåb Plantage is home to several World War II memorials when occupying German forces hid aircraft and fuel storage systems here used for Vandel Airfield located north of the woods.
From Frederikshåb Plantage the route passes Liegård Plantage and continues to Bindeballe, where the Bindeballe Købmandsgård merchant house museum from 1897 is still abuzz with life and dolent of freshly ground coffee. The tour from Frederikshåb Plantage can be extended with a detour to the heathlands of Randbøl Hede.
The Plantation Route is a tour suggestion and is not signposted. The panoramic route offers scenic views as well as small hidden places that invite calm, mindfulness and reflection.
