Himmelpind is a wooded hill and protected nature reserve close to the city of Vejle.  There used to be a zoo on the hill.

Here you can sit and enjoy the beautiful view over Vejle city and towards the fjord.

There is a bit of a climb to reach the top and the viewpoint, but it is well worth it. Also, take a walk in the forest afterwards. You won’t regret it.

Parking: Parking lot at Vardevej 204, 7100 Vejle – about 170 meters from the entrance to Himmelpind.

Runkenbjerg

Runkenbjerg is a long, narrow ridge that has remained as a piece of land between all the eroded ice masses that have formed the broad profile of Vejle River Valley.

At the top of Runkenbjerg, you can enjoy the view of both Vejle River Valley and Egtved River Valley. It is the perfect stop to enjoy a cup of coffee you brought along. You will also find several walking trails around the landscape.

It is a good idea to wear hiking shoes (or rubber boots in wet periods), as you will be following small paths and field roads.

Parking (no busses): below Runkenbjerg, 7183 Randbøl. The parking lot is accessed via Slotsbjergvej. There are signs from Tørskindvej.

At Haraldskær

Here you can enjoy the beautiful view of Haraldskær Manor, Haraldskær Avlsgård, and Vejle River Valley.

Take a walk in the beautiful valley landscape and visit the exhibition about Vejle Å and Fjord, located at Haraldskær Avlsgård, or grab a bite to eat at the restaurant at Haraldskær.

You can easily find the viewpoint as you can drive right up to it.

Stoltenbjerg at Randbøl Heath

Stoltenbjerg is the highest point at Staldbakkerne on Denmark’s second-largest inland heath, Randbøl Heath. Here you will find one of the best views over the heath.

Lace up your good hiking shoes, as there is quite a walk from the parking lot to reach the top of Stoltenbjerg, and it is quite an uphill climb.

Parking: Frederikshåbvej, 7183 Randbøl, or where Sdr. Almstokvej meets Bøgvadvej, 7183 Randbøl. You can also stop at Kirstinelyst, where you will find an exhibition, shelters, a bird tower (also a good viewpoint), and a toilet.

Observation tower in Østengård

From the observation tower, there is a fantastic panoramic view over the fjord, Vejle River Valley, Kongens Kær, and Ravning. The path to the observation tower goes through forest, past hedgerows, alder swamp, and springs.

Paths lead to the observation tower, but there is quite a walk, and the journey starts with a steep climb. The path can be wet and damp, so appropriate footwear is recommended.

Parking: Parking lot at Østengårdvej or Knabberupvej, 7100 Vejle.
